Not that I have any argument with Fred's translation, but the 直訳主義者
lurking in the depths of my soul wants to jump out and give this one a shot.

白く思えます。

And may I say I share the original speaker's sentiment! If any
nit-detectors in the readership are going off, by all means, set your
pickers to kill and fire away.
