It may work in the short term. Dell is still offering XP as an option, I
think.

My take, though, is that it's not an option in the long term. XP was
supposed to have been replaced by Vista and is getting to be ancient
history.

My approach will be to buy a laptop of some sort with Win 7 installed and
use that to tame Win 7 while still working on my XP machine. Then when I
replace my desktop, I'll know how to deal with Win 7. If you can stand the
tiny screens, you can do this on the (relatively) cheap by getting a netbook
with Win 7.
