Subject: Caravan Car?
Before posting this question, I check the Honyaku archives, and it seems I
was stumped with a similar question about a "caravan" in 2003, but the
question is slightly different this time.
I have to figure out how to say "キャラバンカー". What this is is a
specially outfitted truck used for special events, in this case, a
traveling exhibition of products, that opens from the side to display its
wares/allow people to try them out.
Somehow "caravan" has gotten into the Japanese lexicon, as in "日本縦断キャ
ラバン" -- a tour around the country.
Perhaps "touring van" might work, but it doesn't seem as specific as the
side-opening trucks that "caravan car" points to in Japanese? (See Google
Images)
Any suggestions?
